The Catspaw Dinghy

The Catspaw Dinghy is the quintessential yacht tender. Based on a design by Nathanael Herreshoff, a renowned yacht designer who designed and built every defender of the America's Cup– from 1893 to 1920. “Catspaw” refers to a sailing term that directs sailors to aim for the "cats paws," a type of ripple in a calm sea that indicates a source of more wind.

Broader across her beam with a wide transom, she was designed to carry a heavy load a short distance. She was also built lighter to make her easier to tow behind while underway, or brought aboard and stowed on deck.

Here, the Catspaw Dinghy’s beautiful lines are accentuated by the soft glow of light. Fine details include red cedar transom, keel and gunwale. Kevlar thread is woven under the skin.

Measurements as shown 8'2" Long X 3'7" Wide X 1'2" High
